Planting Seeds: Poetry for Grief and Healing

Saturday, October 12, 2024
2:30–3:30 pm | Community House at Central Synagogue and David Geffen Hall

So much has been uprooted since last year. How can we make space for our grief, let alone plant something new, when the ground beneath us keeps shifting? Like prayer, poetry can serve as a gateway for reflection, release, and renewal. Spend Yom Kippur afternoon with Rabbi Sivan Rotholz at the Community House and Rabbi Sarah Berman at David Geffen Hall to discuss poetry on themes of grief, healing, uprooting, and planting. Together, we’ll explore the emotions these poems evoke and sow new seeds of hope.

Members, please check your ticket to see where you will be worshiping on Yom Kippur, so you can choose the most convenient location to attend.
