A High Holy Days Season Like No Other
The word “unprecedented” has been used a lot over the past few months. But it’s no exaggeration to say that this year’s High Holy Days celebrations will be like none other that have ever come before. See below for a few of the exciting initiatives currently underway at Central Synagogue this year, and check back for ongoing updates.
History Behind the Auschwitz Shofar
This year a shofar blown secretly at Auschwitz will play a special role in our Rosh HaShanah service. Learn the story behind this historic artifact.
We can't come together as a large group to cast our sins into running water this year, but that doesn't mean you can't take part in this holiday ritual. Check out these DIY Guides for everything you need to know about Tashlich.
Shofar in the Streets
Wear your masks, maintain social distance, and come hear the shofar at various locations across NYC. Join Rabbi Nicole Auerbach on the steps of Central Synagogue, the second day of Rosh HaShanah at 4:00 pm.
Learn more about the holiday of Sukkot and how you can join Central in celebrating from home.
Support Central Synagogue
This year, more than ever, we are counting on your support of Central’s Yom Kippur Appeal (YKA), our annual fundraising campaign and Central’s main source of operating funding beyond membership dues and tuition.Donate Today
